Jersey country pubs are real gems, many of them are picture postcard and have outstanding views.
There are plenty of bars in St Helier around the centre of town.
All bars in Jersey are non-smoking!
Here are our recommendations, in alphabetical order:
BOHEMIA-
Stylish modern bar. Location in the finance district makes it a good choice for a bar business lunch- go for the steak sandwich. On a Friday night rub shoulders with the local finance workers.
CASTLE GREEN-
'Gastro pub' with good food, good service and great views of Gorey Castle.
LAMPLIGHTER-
Old town pub with comfortable interior, one of the best real ale pubs in St Helier. Big screen TV, packed for rugby matches.
LA PULENTE-
Sit outside and enjoy the
breathtaking views of the surf breaking on St. Ouen’s Bay across the
road from the pub.
Good quality food is served downstairs in the
bar/conservatory as well as in the upstairs restaurant and there is a
good mix of locals, tourists and surfers.
OLD PORTELET INN-
Built in the 17th Century, this large pub-pictured above- boasts three bars and an indoor/outdoor play area for children. Food has mixed reports but the view of Portelet Bay is unbeatable.
ROZEL BAY INN-
A stones throw from the picturesque Rozel Bay this traditional family friendly pub has a good selection of cask ales, draught and bottled beers as well as a selection of wines. Nice alfresco area!
WATERSPLASH-
Popular for decades with local surfers, but its location right on St Ouen's Bay make 'The Splash' the place to watch some spectacular sunsets with a cold beer.
